So I've endured a healthy amount of trauma from different aspects during my life. I initially started producing during the pandemic to mentally deal with depression and isolation. As time went on, I was blessed to produce for many talented artists but I found myself feeling empty again, as if I needed my music to speak for me. So, I decided to heal myself by curating these 6 songs that range from, meditative, calming, nostalgic and melancholy sounds. I wanted to heal. Through the journey of making this EP, I've learned about other people's struggles and know that not only could these sounds help me, but they could help others. As a man, I've realized that our society has a tendency to treat us differently when we have issues. People expect us to "man up" and deal with the issue, no matter how serious it may be. Upon further research, I found that the male suicide rate is almost 4x higher than the female suicide rate and that brings many questions to mind. Why are males killing themselves 4x more than females? I think it's because we don't feel that there are enough "safe spaces" for us to be vulnerable enough to heal. I want this EP to be a safe space for somebody to heal like it has been for me. All of these tracks were produced in the comfort of my home studio. One of my favorite tracks on here is titled "Unk". It features an electric piano loop from my Uncle and vocals from my daughter and myself.
